Tamer leads Nielsen’s North Africa & Levant sub-region, which includes Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Tunisia and Algeria. He is responsible for developing and implementing Nielsen’s business strategy for the region, while maintaining the financial health and operational efficiency, to ensure sustainable and profitable growth.
Tamer started out in marketing and brand management of global consumer brands. He then moved into the telecom industry, first in Mobinil (Orange Telecom), and eventually moving to Vodafone where he spent 10 years developing skills across different disciplines from marketing to customer intelligence and strategy. He then moved to the UK for two years, as a consultant for a boutique firm, the PCA Group Ltd, helping leading telecom companies build on their investments in marketing and CRM. Moreover, a key task was the analysis of customer data and turning customer insight into actions that made a business difference.
Tamer holds a Bachelors Degree in International Relations & Political Science from the American University in Cairo
